Wood Beds
Wood beds are the most common kind of bed in the world; more beds by far are made out of wood than are made from metal or plastic. Solid wood beds are some of the sturdiest beds in existence, and there are many beds that are made partly from wood, or that use some kind of metal or plastic for the bed frame but use wood for the sideboards, headboard and footboard. Every kind of bed that you can imagine is represented in the form of the wood bed; wooden beds include wooden bunk beds, wood platform beds, wood four poster beds, wood canopy beds, wooden captain's beds, wooden sleigh beds and more.
There are lots of ways that you can get into making your own wood beds. From a captain's bed wood working plan to a work working plan for a child's bed or a wood working plan for a loft bed, every kind of bed design plan you could want is available either as a free wood working bed plan on a web site somewhere or from one of the many wood working and furniture design books that you can get in the library or in a book store. Wood beds are the easiest kind of bed to construct as it is easy to saw pieces of wood to whatever size you may need and put them together. While this requires some special tools and expertise, it is easy when compared to the kind of know-how that you need in order to create a metal bed frame or something involving plastic. As a result, lots of people build and / or design their own wood beds.
Wood beds can also be assembled from bed making kits that are sold at a reduced rate by stores when compared to the completed beds. These do it yourself beds can be put together at home by reading the instructions in the manual and sliding the right pieces together with a couple of fasteners. As wood is a comparatively soft material when compared to plastic or metal, but is still sturdy, wood makes the best possible material for a bed which is both supportive and comfortable for people to be in direct contact with when they are resting.
